Chapter 1
My name is Amy and I’m 11 years old, I live in an old house and my Dad died in war. My Mom mysteriously disappeared at full moon. I live all by myself besides my grandma living (sleeping) down in the basement, well I think she’s sleeping, and here is my story.
It all started at school. Me and my friend Leka were sitting in class doing a math test, me and Leka were so bored and wanted to go to lunch.
I looked at my watch, it was 11:30, another half hour of boring math. I told Leka what the time was and frowned. Soon we finally finished the test and showed the teacher, she said good job girls, now you can carry on with yesterdays work, I was so annoyed.
I got my work and looked at my watch, it was 11:55, only 5 more minutes. Finally it was lunch, me and Leka were talking about how boring math was and we were glad it was over. When we stood up and started walking, I banged my foot real hard on some rusty metal stuck in the ground, it was really painful.
What is that, said Leka. When we looked closer, I realised that it was a handle. Me and Leka started ripping the grass off around the handle and we found out that it was a door. I pulled the handle as hard as I can, and it opened. Dozens of bats flew out and spiders crawled to freedom. When we looked down, it was very dark. All we
could see was a rusty old ladder leading to the bottom. Me and Leka went down the
ladder and it was very dark. Suddenly, torches lit and we saw heaps of statues. They were all looking at the rusty old torches in their hands, and then at the end of the room, we saw a beautiful crystal in the hands of a statue with a golden gem crown on its head. I lifted the crystal slowly, it was glowing like a star. Then when I turned around all the statues looked at me, just staring. Suddenly, they opened their eyes and growled and hissed. We started to run and the statues were following us, when we got to the ladder, we climbed up as fast as we can. But when we got to the top, the statues were climbing up as well. But when they got to the top they melted down turning into concrete, blocking the way of the door. The statues were dead, well that’s what we thought. I put the crystal in my pocket, and then the bell rang.
